According to the author of this work, an abundance of resources makes us poor. Conversely, the lack of resources pushes us to be more creative, more inventive, and to innovate. Scarcity leads us to find innovative solutions that are adapted to the realities of our communities.

Hence his motto : “Let us do better with what little we have.”

This concept of doing better with the minimum available is reflected in this book entitled The Hybrid City : A Development Model for Cities of the Global South. In its first part, the book traces the history of the evolution of the city of Ouagadougou. In its second part, it details the challenges and constraints faced by the city of Ouagadougou, and in its third part, it proposes solutions to issues such as the shortage of housing, urban sprawl, the proliferation of informal settlements, lack of employment, urban mobility, education, agriculture, sanitation systems, and more.
